Assistant Director for Dining Services, Carl Korz, approached Marketing to come up with ideas to get more students to apply for jobs within the dining division, specifically the outlying markets and cafes.
The Human Resources department’s Best Place to Work previous campaign was from 2008. It was a good time to refresh the look. Carl wanted something that would resonate with students. We wanted the look to be fun, youthful, bright and informative, with the goal to increase awareness of job openings and therefore, the amount of student applications received.
This new look was applied to countertop signs in every dining unit with tear-away/take-along information sheets directing students to the WU jobs website; a sign to go on the WU delivery truck, which is seen driving all through campus; WU website header; digital sign for US & MU displays; Twitter & Facebook posts along with updated jobs website with student testimonials on why they like to work for the WU; kiosk for foot traffic in & out of MU; ATM screen.
