NCAA Game Watch

As the Badger Men’s Basketball marched their way to the Championship Game on Monday, April 6th, the Wisconsin Union provided the community with an official Game Watch location.  That night alone, the Unions’ hosted over 5,000 people to watch the Badgers.

The Marketing Department implemented the following in anticipation for Monday’s game (all created and completed that day):
–          Website
o   Press release and updated home page news button:
o   Entire home page is devoted to the game watch tonight. (header image, social posts):
o   Updated our event calendar with specific game watch info:

–          Social Media:
o   Facebook: updated our cover photo, posted a recap album and will post a push for tonight’s game watch
o   Twitter: posting promotion for game watch locations tonight with links, will post a few more times prior to the game. Will be doing live tweeting as appropriate
o   Instagram: posted game day message with watch locations

–          Digital Signage:
o   All of the March Madness digital signs are being replaced with the game watch #MakeEmBelieve creative.  These are in  MU west wing lobby, US Hotel area entrance, Shannon Hall. Just for today/tonight this will be the only large display ad. Small display ads will be on all the TITU screens as well.

–          Physical signage:
o   Creating special photo opportunities by having the large Terrace chair set up in both Varsity Lounge area and the MU’s West Wing lobby with the attached backdrop
o   Created special game watch signage for way finding support

Despite the outcome of the game, The Union truly shinned.  Here are a couple of our favorite tweets that were directed at the operations:

The unsung hero of yesterday was @WisconsinUnion . The entire operation yesterday was very impressive and professional.
