Building upon the refreshed branding for Outdoor UW in 2016, we took it a step further and introduced lifestyle imagery and messaging in our camping, paddling and yoga marketing materials.
In 2016, we went away from using photos and moved to depicting Outdoor UW solely with line art and iconography in an attempt be inclusive by not showing just a handful of people. We realized that this was too far to the extreme and that people have to be able to see themselves doing the activity.
With the help of student photographers and a freelancer’s photo shoot, we gathered photos that showcased what it means to live the outdoor lifestyle and enjoy the outdoors. We used those photos to strengthen our messaging and reach current students and those just out of college.
Deliverables for camping, paddling and yoga included:
- Advertisements (Inside UW, Isthmus, student newspapers, and Facebook)
- Digital signage
- Sandwich boards/feather flags and kiosk poster
- Web assets
- Social media campaign
- Handouts (postcards for yoga)
