Terrace 2016 Branding

The Memorial Union Terrace is reopened to the public in the late spring/early summer of 2016 after a major renovation project – the largest in 30 years. With this opportunity, we looked to refresh the experiential design elements to create cohesion and a visitor experience that created a sense of belonging. The driving tone was friendly, relaxed, open, vibrant and hip with and considered foundational elements of community, sense of place, leisure and inclusiveness. Our branding took a dual approach creating both elements that defined the tradition of the space and fresh, modern design that keeps us current and is meant to be changeable from year to year.
