The Terrace. Beloved by all. Confusing to some.
Where is the ice cream? Where does someone buy beverages or food? Where can they hear music? Where is the ice cream?!
Too often, the Union has been asked these questions. To help provide an answer, the Marketing Department created a fun map. The map provided engaging and exciting icons to reflect the various activities and services available at the Union.
This display was installed in the new West Wing display case, as well as on the wall as patrons walked from Lakefront on Langdon to the Terrace.
Why stop there?
The map was also turned into a small, handheld version, available at all the dining areas. Much like a baseball schedule, these maps provided a quick way for people to enjoy the Terrace and know where they were going just in the palm of their hand.
But wait. There is more!
The icons were also turned into flags. The flags were flying high on the Sunset Deck during the entire Terrace season. The vibrant colors and icons became instantly recognizable.
By providing cohesiveness between the displays, hand-held maps and flags, the Terrace Map Campaign became a branded part of Terrace history.
