The theater “genre” rack card suite broke the season artists into categories that would interest different audiences. In addition to the traditional groupings of jazz, classical and folk, unique categories of “pushing musical boundaries”, “women who slay” and “standing up and speaking out” were created to appeal to engaged audiences that believe artists are more than just their music.
The design of the rack cards is clean and simple: large artist images and blocked headlines were used to grab the audience’s attention and show information was available on the back. The rack cards were intended to be displayed as a suite. The bold colors in a row are more effective in gaining attention than a single piece alone.
